YouTube changes icon to show solidarity with Paris attack victims

The new YouTube icon replaces the old red in the background with the blue, white, and red French tricolour. Clicking the icon on the homepage leads to a dedicated news section 'We Stand with Paris' by one of the nation’s prominent news outlet.
Meanwhile, Google’s own homepage for France sports the black ribbon in memory of the victims of the attacks which are said to be the first ever suicide bombings on French soil.

The social media sphere has been flooded with tributes, messages of condolences and solidarity for the victims and for France, with #PrayforParis and #PrayersforParis the top trending hashtags by far.
Profile pictures were changed en masse, some showing the blue, white and red stripes of the French tricolour flag across their personal photos, or a roughly painted peace symbol doctored to resemble the Eiffel Tower.
